Patients with Parkinsosn’s disease have dopamine deficiency. L-dopa is able to pass through the blood-brain barrier and as it enters the brain it is converted to dopamine. ForIn the short term, symptoms of Parkinson’s disease decline. But taking L-dopa for longer time may lead to side effects like motor impairments, paranoia, hallucinations.
