Pregabalin is an FDA-approved medication primarily used to treat neuropathic pain, epilepsy, and generalized anxiety disorder (GAD). As a gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA) analog, it works by modulating overactive nerve signals, providing relief from chronic pain conditions like diabetic neuropathy, post-herpetic neuralgia, and fibromyalgia. Clinical studies have shown that Pregabalin significantly reduces pain intensity and improves sleep quality. It is also prescribed as an adjunct therapy for partial-onset seizures. While generally well-tolerated, potential side effects include dizziness, drowsiness, and weight gain. To ensure safe use, Pregabalin should be taken under medical supervision, following prescribed dosages and guidelines.
